What happened in Boston was SO appalling, and SO incredibly frustrating. There’s just so much darkness in this world….people who want to hurt other people…and it’s just SO. WRONG.
And, I understand that people want to be supportive of Boston. I get that they want to “pray for Boston”. Literally, those three words are what I see on my dashboard..posted by different people. But what I don’t understand is why people want to post it on social media sites? It’s strange for me…..to think about why someone would write pray for Boston…knowing that they’d snap a picture of it and post it on Tumblr..or Facebook..or Twitter. I find it extremely strange…that that’s what was probably on the forefront of their minds as they were writing it. Maybe it wasn’t their first thought…but it’s just……..why post it? I don’t really understand why anyone would want to publicize that they’re hoping that Boston is okay…………I suppose it gives us a sense of community in this horrible event..but, if you’re going to pray for Boston, or “send love and care their way”………………how would you do it…if you’re on…..social..media..sites. And, as I was looking at news of the Boston bombing, Yahoo! had posted around 40 photos…and these photos….they looked professionally photographed……with some kind of $400-$1000 camera………….and, they were close up..of people hurt..of people bleeding. I don’t get why STAND THERE, and SNAP PHOTOS of hurting people. Why was that their first instinct? Why didn’t they drop the camera and go to their aid? Why was it so…important for them to take pictures of a horrible event?
Sigh, I just strongly feel that priorities are off right now. So PLEASE, if you’re going to pray for Boston, or send care their way. PLEASE. get off Tumblr RIGHT NOW and do so!
